Verna Lindberg, age 77 of Sauk Centre, Minnesota passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 21, 2022 at her home in Sauk Centre. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with the Divine Mercy Chaplet being prayed at 6:00 p.m.

Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Henning, Minnesota. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at church. Verna will be laid to rest at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Henning, Minnesota.

Verna Mathilda Hursh was born on August 12, 1944 in San Francisco, California.  Her parents were the late Jacob Ira and Verona Mathilda (Fairbanks) Hursh.  Verna graduated from the Henning High School in Henning, Minnesota with the class of 1962.  On December 1, 1962 Verna was united in marriage with James Andrew Lindberg.  Their marriage was blessed with four children: Thomas, Jon, David and Cheryl. 

Verna was employed for 15 years as a secretary for the family business, Lindberg Line.  James passed away on July 24, 1988.  Verna continued her employment in Henning as a dietary aid at the Henning Health Care.  She moved to Sauk Rapids, Minnesota where she was employed at Good Shepherd and then as a CNA Home Health at the Country Manor in Sartell.  Since 2012 Verna has made her home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Verna has been a member of the St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Henning; St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud and Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre/

Preceding Verna in death were her parents, Jacob and Verona Hursh; husband, James Lindberg; children: Thomas, Jon and Cheryl.

Verna is survived by her son, David Lindberg; grandchildren: Briana (Tyler Pink), Zachary Lindberg, Derek (Nichole) Lindberg, Jacqueline (Andrew Hammer), Stephanie (Erik Thom), Harley Feela, Thomas Lindberg, Morgan Lindberg, Jennifer Lindberg, Jacob Lindberg, Clayton Lindberg and Aiden Miller; great-grandchildren: Kamryn, Braxton, Peyton, Piper, Olivia, Macy, Carson, Liam, Ashlyn, Lux and soon to be, Henry; other relatives and a host of friends.
