Elizabeth A. “Betty” Westerburg, 90, of Kane, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home. She was born on June 4, 1931 in Kane, the daughter of the late Percy and Sally Greibel Cuthbertson. She graduated from Kane High School with the class of 49ers. On September 2, 1950 in the St. Callistus Catholic Church Rectory, she married Paul E. Westerburg who survives. After their marriage they moved to Wilcox in 1951. In 1968 she and her family moved back to Kane. While living in Kane she was a member of the St. Callistus Catholic Church; where she was a former member of the Altar Rosary Society. In addition to her husband of 71 years, Paul E. “Gene” Westerburg of Kane she is also survived by two sons, David (Kathy) Westerburg of Kane and Paul (Mary-Lu) Westerburg of Bradford; one brother, John “Jack” (Carol) Cuthbertson of Orchard Park, NY; three grandsons, Stephen (Michelle) Westerburg of Kane, James (Kersten) Westerburg of Simpsonville, SC and Eric (Shaina Hartzell) Westerburg of Bradford; two granddaughters, Sara (Matt) Rowles of Canton, GA and Nicole (Rob) Salzer of Eldred; four great grandchildren, Kyle Westerburg, Weston Rowles, Cullen Rowles and Cora Salzer and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Cuthbertson and James Cuthbertson; two sisters-in-law, Mary Cuthbertson and Joann Cuthbertson; one grandson, Bryan D. Westerburg; one niece, Lisa Cuthbertson; two nephews, James and Richard Cuthbertson and one special cousin, Nancy Swanson. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in the St. Callistus Catholic Church’s gathering space with a Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow at 11:00 in the church. Burial will be in the St. Callistus Cemetery, Kane. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
