Marian Rose Stabile Obituary

Marian Rose Stabile (Mastrantonio) 90 passed away peacefully in her sleep transitioning to a better place on Thursday February 24, 2022, at her son’s home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Marian a first-generation Italian American was born on July 12, 1931, to the late Sabatino (Sam) and Emma (Ciocca) Mastrantonio the youngest of the three children in Bellaire Ohio.  The family moved to Clarington Ohio when 8 and started a business called the Washington Inn.   Marian was preceded in death by her infant son Anthony, husband Nick, sister Helen and brothers Robert and Ezio.  Marian called the house they built 61 years ago home, along with her beloved husband Nick Alex Stabile whom she married on July 12, 1953.
Marian’s legacy continues through Bruce & Brenda (Ferguson), Tony & Judy (McCutcheon), surviving grandchildren: Courtland, Cassidi, Alex, Calvin, Erich & Caitlyn (Amberg), with great grandchildren Emmy and new arrival Tate Nickolas.
Marian’s career began after graduating in 1952 from the Ruth Brant School of Nursing in Martins Ferry Ohio. She went on to work at the Bellaire Hospital and found her niche in surgery as a surgical nurse. She was very proud of her ability to coach and mentor surgical technique to students.  Memories she talked about, being called out at 3 am for emergency surgery on a nasty snowy night with a full state and city police escort to assure she made it and during the floods, spending hours trying to find the back road routes to get home.  After a pause to be a stay-at-home mom, she returned to the nursing profession as a plant infirmary Nurse for both the Wheeling Pittsburg Steel Plants in Yorkville and Martins Ferry.    Over the years Marian and Nick raised over 20 Arabian show horses and was actively involved with 4-H. She enjoyed sewing, meeting with friends, taking bus tours and cooking the Italian favorites.
Marian was an active member of the Tiltonsville Saint Joseph Catholic Parish, Holy Name Society and spent many a year’s volunteering at the Wheeling Soup Kitchen and Valley Hospice. She loved the church, community, family and having a cup of coffee, glass of wine and breakfast waiting for Nick.
Visitation will be on Friday March 11th from 4 – 8, at the Borkoski Funeral Home 337 Jefferson St. Tiltonsville, Ohio. 43963, with a vigil service at 4:30 pm, with Father William Cross.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be Saturday, 12:30 pm, at the Tiltonsville Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church with following burial at the Hopewell Cemetery in the Stabile Family plot.
