Paul Thomas Zambrano

WALLINGFORD- Paul Zambrano died peacefully in his Wallingford, Connecticut home in the early morning hours of Thursday March 10, 2022. He was 65 years old.

Paul was the beloved father of daughters Lynne (Zambrano) Flint, and her husband Dave and Lauren Zambrano, grandfather of Brooks David Flint, and brother to Joan (dec.), Thomas and his wife Donna, and Guy and his wife Natasha. He had six nephews, among whom he was especially close to his sister's son, Thomas Bobrowski. Paul was formerly married to Peggy Drew, the mother of his children.

Paul was born in the Bronx, New York to parents Felicia (DiBiase) and Thomas J. Zambrano (both deceased). The family moved to Connecticut while Paul was in grade school. There he met his lifelong friends John Conelias, Brian Calabro, and Anthony Angotto. Paul found his passion for construction while attending Quinnipiac College, and from there embarked on his profession in house building. Paul designed and built the Wallingford house where he and Peggy would raise their daughters. He would later design and build his country cabin in Vermont.

Paul loved the outdoors with family and friends. He especially enjoyed Lynne and Lauren's sporting events, family vacations to Virginia Beach, and camping, hunting, and fishing outings with John, Brian, Anthony, and Terry. Paul made it to all the girl's softball games at the local school fields and traveling team tournaments. He would conspicuously cheer the loudest then run the after-game hamburger grill. Paul always talked about his love for the quality time spent driving home with daughters Lynne and Lauren from those games and tournaments.

Paul and his buddies made it a point to get together every hunting or fishing season, though never ventured far. The pleasure of their company was more important than heading to some far-off destination.

As the children grew, Paul and his nephew Tommy spent many happy, hard-working weekends on the continual project of the Vermont cabin.. They, along with Terry, would clear brush, create hiking trails, and take hammer to nail on the cabin. They would then finish off the day's work with a bonfire and meal under the stars. Paul's desire was for it to be a legacy to his family. It will now forever be known as "Grandpa's Cabin." But no matter how much time Paul worked tirelessly on the cabin, he always looked forward to going home for the Flint’s Sunday dinners to see his cherished grandson Brooks.

Paul often would say how lucky he was to have been raised by a loving family, have wonderful children, and friends for life. We were really the lucky ones.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  There will be no calling hours.  The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford, Connecticut has been entrusted with the arrangements.
