We regret to announce the heavenly transition of Mozella Nelson, 72, of Alvin, SC who heard God's voice and answered her call to eternal life on Sunday morning at 10:45 AM at Trident Medical Center in N. Charleston, SC. She was the loving sister of Norma Middleton & Debra (Ellis) Guy.

The family will be receiving family and friends but their is a mandate per the family that a face mask must be worn at all times while at the residence. The family thank you in advance for your prayers and understanding during this difficult time. Continue to keep the Nelson family in your prayers.

 

 

LIFE REFLECTION OF MS. MOZELLA NELSON

“I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”  II Timothy 4:7

 

Pressing towards the prize of the Most High, MS. MOZELLA  NELSON entered into eternal rest on March 6, 2022 at Trident Regional Hospital to be with her Heavenly Father. MOZELLA, the daughter of the late Leroy Brown and the late Carrie Bell Nelson, was born on February 2, 1950 in Berkeley County.

MOZELLA attended Jamestown Elementary in Jamestown, South Carolina and graduated from Russellville High School Class of 1968, where she was a Top 10 graduate. Not only did she demonstrate outstanding academic skills, but she was also known among her classmates as being well dressed.

MOZELLA was a very active and positive individual in her community which exemplified her leadership and service to others. Mozella was a founding member of The Alvin Grass Root, one of the community’s first civic organizations. She was also one of the founding members of the Alvin Recreational League where she served as secretary. Mozella was affiliated with Brown Tax Service, Nelson Tax Service, and H & R Block in Alvin.

At an early age, MOZELLA accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Alvin, South Carolina under the leadership of the late Reverend W.H. Manigault. Mozella was a great prayer warrior and was known for her powerful prayers and words of encouragement. She was a member of the local prayer band, a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Bethlehem Singing Sisters. Mozella was a faithful Missionary at Bethlehem Baptist Church and the chairperson of the annual church anniversary program. She was also fundamental in the organization of Elder Derrick Greene’s online Bible study.

MOZELLA was a talented and gifted seamstress and a devoted and loyal caregiver to anyone she could help. During her life, she had several hobbies that she did for enjoyment which included dancing, fishing, traveling, and watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Hercules Brown, Sr.

Those she leaves to cherish fond memories are her loving and caring sisters: Norma Jean Middleton of the home and Debra (Ellis) Guy, and a rearing sister, Iva Beauford; her step-mother, Anna Mae Brown; nephews: Arron (Donlita) Nelson, Minister Quintin (Kendra) Middleton, Marcus Middleton, Jerome (Jessica) Goodman and Hercules Brown, Jr.; nieces: Lakesha Goodman and Danyelle Goodman; eleven grandnieces and grandnephews; two great grand- nephews; five Godchildren: Margretta Beauford-Fix, Joetta Beauford, Elijah Prioleau, Jr., Zakiyyah Amira Alston, and Amia Cleveland; a devoted aunt, Willie Mae Nelson; a special niece, Audrey Nelson and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

 

Viewing for Ms. Mozella Nelson will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Divinity Mortuary from 5-7 PM.

Ms. Mozella Celebration Of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Alvin Recreation Center, 2191 Santee River Road, St. Stephen, SC. She will lie in state from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.

Interment:  Bethlehem Baptist Memorial Cemetery, Greentown Road, St. Stephen, SC

 

A face mask is required during the viewing and the service.  You are welcome to leave your condolences on our Tribute Wall.
