Linda White

Linda White, age 68, of Griggsville died Sunday evening (March 6, 2022) at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Il. She was born July 8, 1953 in Pittsfield, Il. daughter of the late Gene and Rosetta Mae Staffy Phillips Mize. She married Gary Smart on October 29, 1971 and he preceded her in death. She later married Donnie L. White on August 30, 1975 in Griggsville, Il. and he preceded her in death on July 15, 2021. Surviving are her children, Chad Smart of Culver City, Ca. and Kelli Jones of Griggsville, Il.; one grandson, Landon Jones of Griggsville, Il.; her siblings, Peggy Stanley (Roger) of Griggsville, Il. and Ed Phillips (Tammy) all of Griggsville, Il.; a special family friend Shawn Jones; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands. Linda was a 1971 graduate of Griggsville High School. She was a past employee of Brown Shoe in Pittsfield, Il. and Nature House in Griggsville, Il., as well as Griggsville Estates. Recently Linda was a CNA at Illini Hospital in Pittsfield. Linda also worked in home healthcare, caring for many elderly in their homes. Linda loved shopping, watching the Game Show channel and spending time with her grandson. Linda was an active member of the Griggsville Nazarene Church where she taught Sunday School and was a past board member and loved working with children. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday (March 11, 2022) at the Griggsville Nazarene Church in Griggsville, Il. Burial will be in Griggsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville, Il.
