Annabelle Louise Champion Tyrrell Obituary

Annabelle Louise Champion Tyrrell, 95, passed from this life on Friday March 4th.  Formerly of 30 Tenth Avenue in Carbondale, she was living with her daughter, Debra, in Spring Grove, after the death of her husband, William R. Tyrrell in 2015.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Harold and Sarah Dorothea Dimock Champion, Annabelle enjoyed a life made rich by her many friendships and loving family.  She was a long-standing member of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale, Carbondale Women’s Club, a birthday/card club and a dance club. Mrs. Tyrrell married William Tyrrell in January, 1948, and they enjoyed 67 years together, most of it living in their home on 10th Avenue.  They were blessed with four children and, in time, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Her interests and talents were many, including cooking, baking, knitting, sewing, dancing, crafts and enjoying good conversation in the company of others.  A professional beautician she operated her own salon in her home for over four decades. Annabelle was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and never was sparing with her time or affection for them. Many great memories were made during summer reunions around their backyard pool where she made all of her guests feel welcome and appreciated.  Annabelle was truly gifted in making people feel good and important, and she never tired of hosting friends and family for dinners, parties, or just to sit and chat.

After her husband, Billy, passed away in December, 2015, Mrs. Tyrrell moved to Spring Grove, where she was under the care of her daughter, Debra with assistance from her other children and extended family.

Surviving are her four children: Debra Baum, Spring Grove; Patricia Summerhill  (William), Denver, CO; Lauren Stouffer (Michael), Harrisburg; William Robert Tyrrell, Jr. (Margaret), Carlisle; 11 grandchildren: Teresa Clark (Jamie), Shady Shores, TX; David Baum (Danielle), Spring Grove; Kathryn Fahringer (Ron), Spring Grove; Kevin Baum (Jessica), Spring Grove; Karen O’Donnell (Thomas), Papillion, NE; Jeffrey Summerhill (Molly), Denver, CO; Matthew Stouffer (Megan), Harrisburg; Meghan Lasinski (Joshua), St. Louis, MO; Nicholas Tyrrell (Nicki), San Francisco, CA; Ashley Tyrrell, Carlisle; Angela Weber (Nathan), Camp Hill; 17 great grandchildren: Jarrett and Jacob Clark; Macey, Davis and Easton Baum; Jordan Baum; Levi and Bryar Baum; William, Anna Kate and Sarah O’Donnell; Penn and Warren Summerhill; Jayna and Addison Stouffer; and Annabelle and Gwendolen Lasinski; a  brother: Thomas Champion (Mimi), Auburn, NY; a sister-in-law: Bonnie Chaballa (George) and beloved niece, Beth all of Carbondale; a brother-in-law: Daniel Acosta of New York City, NY; a sister-in-law: Shirley Tyrrell of Waverly, NY; and  good friends: Anne Price and Susan Postlewaithe, both of Carbondale.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold; and two sisters: Jane and Merlyn.

The funeral will be Saturday Marh 12th, with services at 12 noon in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.  Spring interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.   Friends may call Saturday, from 11 am until service time.
