Carl Gregory Neal Sr. AKA “Greg”, 72 of Hartford passed away in Jacksonville Florida on February 4, 2022. Greg was born on September 19, 1949 to the late Nelson and Edith Cannon Neal. He attended Hartford High School and Prince Tech and later joined the U.S. Marines. He was self-employed as a painter and handyman. Later in life he left Hartford, CT and migrated to sunny Jacksonville Florida. Greg loved talking to his family and friends, he never missed the opportunity of calling or spending time with them. He loved to dress “fly” and smell good with the finest cologne. He also loved to travel often back north to Connecticut or North Carolina by car, bus, or train. While being in Florida he would frequently go to the flea market or stroll the beach. His hobbies consisted of buying collectible coins and Faberge eggs. 

He was a devoted son, brother, father, and grandfather. He will be forever remembered by his daughter; Enid Shepherd-Contreras of Las Vegas, his sons, Kawayne Gore (Shaena) and Carl Neal Jr. of Hartford, Quinton and Terrence Neal of Florida. Grandchildren; Alexias, Tyanna, JaeVonn, Xia’Ian, KaLeigh, Carl III, Mekhi, Chase, Kamari, Teovah, Shaki, Cani. His siblings Howard, Meredith, Matthew, Aaron, Sarah and Miriam.  He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Neal. In addition, he will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Amongst them a special niece Shawn Crutchfield and best friend Marvin “Flippy” Williams. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday March 11, 2022 from 4pm -5pm at All Faith Memorial Chapel, South Windsor CT.
