David J. Rooks

<p>David J. Rooks, known to some as &quot;Round Man&quot; and &quot;Big Daddy&quot; died Saturday, March 5, 2022, at his residence.</p> <p>Born in Vienna, he was the son of the late Lonnie Thurston Rooks and Anna Louise Brown Rooks.&nbsp; Before becoming disabled, David had worked at Noble Gin.&nbsp; He was a hard worker and a loyal employee.&nbsp; He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.</p> <p>Survivors include:<br /> Wife:&nbsp; Marlaine &quot;Molly&quot; Taylor Rooks of Vienna</p> <p>Step-Children:<br /> Margaret Charlene Taylor of Vienna<br /> Brittany Nicole Adkins of Vienna<br /> Charles Kellis Taylor of Macon</p> <p>Sisters:<br /> Katherine Rooks of Vienna<br /> Brenda Payne of Abbeville</p> <p>Step-Grandchildren:<br /> Yakira Taylor of Vienna<br /> Ethan Lester of Vienna</p> <p>Several nieces and nephews also survive.</p> <p>His sister, Martha Rooks Wade, preceded him&nbsp;in death.</p> <p>A visitation will be held 5 - 7 PM Tuesday, March 8 at the funeral home.</p> <p>The family requests donations be made to Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home to help defray expenses.</p> <p>Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna has charge of arrangements.</p>

Obituary

David J. Rooks, known to some as "Round Man" and "Big Daddy" died Saturday, March 5, 2022, at his residence.

Born in Vienna, he was the son of the late Lonnie Thurston Rooks and Anna Louise Brown Rooks.  Before becoming disabled, David had worked at Noble Gin.  He was a hard worker and a loyal employee.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include:
Wife:  Marlaine "Molly" Taylor Rooks of Vienna

Step-Children:
Margaret Charlene Taylor of Vienna
Brittany Nicole Adkins of Vienna
Charles Kellis Taylor of Macon

Sisters:
Katherine Rooks of Vienna
Brenda Payne of Abbeville

Step-Grandchildren:
Yakira Taylor of Vienna
Ethan Lester of Vienna

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

His sister, Martha Rooks Wade, preceded him in death.

A visitation will be held 5 - 7 PM Tuesday, March 8 at the funeral home.

The family requests donations be made to Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home to help defray expenses.
