Janet K. Akerman, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away at home on 84, Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at home. Born in 1937 to Adam and Helen Koehler, she grew up in Sublette, IL where she graduated from high school. Happily married to Wayne for 61 years, she lived in Illinois, Virginia, Ohio, and California. 

She was the mom, grandma and mother-in-law everyone wished for – warm, loving and kind. She inspired a love of quilting in her daughters and sewed for charities as well as making hats for family members.  Janet is survived by her children Greg Akerman of Savanah GA, Laura Coates (husband Brian) of Boulder CO and Janice Durham (husband Michael) of Peoria; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne. 

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial of Ashes will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon, IL.
