Joseph E. Moore

December 23, 1942 – February 8, 2022 age 79 years.

Joseph Eugene Moore, Jr. longtime resident of Bethel, CT, passed away on February 8, 2022. He was 79 years old and a beloved husband, brother, father, uncle and friend.

Joe was born December 23, 1942, to the late Joseph E. and Mildred (Smith) Moore. He grew up in Ridgefield, CT, graduating from Ridgefield High School in 1963 and marrying his lifelong sweetheart, Judy (Ettinger) in 1966.

Joe retired from the Ridgefield Post Office after many years of service. He then worked part-time at Caldor and Kohl’s of Ridgefield. He always had a friendly hello and great smile for anyone he met.

Joe is also survived by his son, his pride and joy, Steven, Steven’s wife Stacy, his brothers Glen and his wife Fran, Thomas and his wife Peggy, along with sisters-in-law, Karen Phelan and Betty Ettinger, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins in the area.

He joins his brothers-in-law, Wayne Phelan and Charles (Bub) Ettinger in heaven.

Joe loved fishing and would head out to the Saugatuck Reservoir as often as he could with his son Steven to enjoy the day.

Joe will be sorely missed at all the future family gatherings. A private burial of his ashes will take place in the spring.
