James Rodney Toney, age 78, of LaGrange passed away on March 1, 2022. He was born on September 19, 1943 to the late James Radney Toney and Zora Mae Kitchens Toney in LaGrange, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Don Toney. Rodney retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Company, the owner of Toney's Carpet Cleaning. Recently he worked for the Troup County School System.

Survivors include his son, Darren Toney (Candy); daughter, Madison Toney; brothers, Floyd Toney (Cherry), Charles Toney; sister, Sue Traylor (Ronnie), sister-in-law, Betty Toney; grandchildren, Mary Katherine Askins (Dr. Brett); special person in his life, Brenda Toney; extended family and friends.

The family will have a graveside service on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Restlawn Memory Gardens beginning at 2:00 PM with Pastor Wayne Hester officiating. The family will gather at the gave before and after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Rodney Toney to the WellStar West Georgia Hospice, 1510 Vernon Rd, LaGrange, GA 30240.
