Junne "Harry" Hsyong Liou Obituary

JunneHsyong (Harry) Liou JunneHsyong (Harry) Liou was born on June 24, 1939 to Kwie Tong Liou and Yang Chin Liou in YingGe, Taipei, Taiwan. Harry was the oldest son of five siblings in the family. Growing up, he worked tirelessly to help his parents raise livestock on their farm and knead dough for their bakery shop. Despite all the hard work and long hours, he was always at the top of his class. He graduated from Cheng Kung University, one of the most renowned universities in Taiwan, with an Engineering Degree. After college, he worked as a teacher, judge and civil engineer. In 1971, he decided to come to the United States alone to pursue the American dream. With a few dollars in his pocket, he worked seven days a week in restaurants and grocery stores. In 1973, he brought his family from overseas to reunite with him. In 1975, he joined his friends to openGLC, Inc. his first wholesale food distribution business venture in DC Metropolitan area. He then later opened Kam Do, Inc. in 1982. He worked hard to gain trust among his customers and suppliers. Many of them have become his lifelong good friends. For the last 30 years, Harry owned and ran Chinese and American Sales Company, one of the most successful leading wholesale food companies in the area. His success in business can be directly attribute to his work ethic and his passion for the business. At age 76, Harry was still actively involved, working six days a week, in his business with the help of his wife and four children. Harry passed away on November 12, 2015. He was surrounded by his family. Harry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Chiu-Ran; his son, Fong Shih (Fayland Ng) ; his 3 daughters, Chi (Thanh Thai)Liou, Shelley (George Tran) Liouand Christine (David Wong)Liou; his 10 grandchildren, Patrick, Jackie, Emily, William, Victoria, Rachel, Garrett, Mitchell, Joe and Bryan; 1 brother, Jerry Lin; 2 sisters, Susie Chang and Shirley Lee.
