Steven Mark Shaker was born in Hartford, CT on February 17, 1955; the second son of the late Theodore Shaker and Bernice Shaker. He left this world to explore other galaxies on Friday, December 11, 2015 in Fairfax Station, VA after a long battle with cancer. He leaves to celebrate his life, his wife, Virginia (Jenny) Shaker and his children: Scott Terrence Shaker, Stephanie Nicole Shaker (Chip), Jessica Ashley Shaker, and Kevin Kyle Shaker; and his brother Howard Bruce Shaker (Cathy); other relatives and friends. Mr. Shaker has held senior executive positions in both commercial and governmental organizations and has been a change agent in the adoption of new technology. Mr. Shaker was a nationally known technology forecaster and futurist. He was also an expert on competitive intelligence, market research, and a leading authority on the design and implementation of war rooms for strategic planning, advocacy campaigns, competitive intelligence and investment decision-making. He has authored several books and more than 125 articles relating to business and competitive intelligence, and advanced technology.
