Donna Cay was born November 16, 1933 in Cushing, NE to Charles H. Brown, Jr. and Kathleen McCay Brown. She graduated from Torrington High School, Eastern Wyoming College and the University of Wyoming. She married Bryan J. Heinz December 23, 1953, in Henry, NE.

Donna Cay possessed a kind and gentle spirit, and she was a gracious and caring person as well. First and foremost, she was a wonderful wife, life-long mate and ranch partner to her husband Bryan, a great mom to her children, Jonna and Todd, a fabulous grandmother, and now, even a great grandmother. Her grandchildren absolutely loved and adored their “Granny”!

Donna Cay was blessed with a servant’s heart. Among many other things, she prepared and served countless meals for friends and family, for church dinners, for ranch brandings and many other functions too, all the while doing it with grace and ease. Though the task at hand was obviously hard work, it always appeared to observers that she performed any task quite effortlessly, no matter how difficult it actually may have been. Her organizational skills were also utilized to the fullest over many, many years functioning as the family travel agent by planning, scheduling, and directing trips of all sorts throughout the country for both business and pleasure.

Donna Cay was always ready to assist wherever, whenever and in any way necessary, whether it be an individual, a family, or an organization in need. One of these organizations in need was the Torrington High School alumni group; she worked tirelessly to compile a data base for use in contacting alumni for reunions, etc. In addition, she was instrumental in organizing class reunions for many years as THS classmates gathered every other year for reunions. She was also an active worker in the churches she attended, notably the Presbyterian Church in Jackson, WY and the First Congregational Church in Torrington, WY. Donna was active in Jobs Daughters, she was a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, past President of Nebraska Cattlewomen, she served on the Wyoming Judicial Conduct & Ethics Commission, Goshen Co. Senior Friendship Board, Goshen Co. Cattlewomen, and Chapter AK, PEO and on the Board of Directors of University of Wyoming Alumni Association. She had a special way of endearing herself to all who crossed her pathway in life, and she will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.

Donna is survived by her husband Bryan J. Heinz, Torrington, WY; children Jonna Cay, Vernon, FL and Todd J., Scottsbluff, NE; brother C.H. “Chuck” Brown (Kate) Wheatland, WY; sisters-in-law Marjorie Flinn, Mesa, AZ and Janice Brockman, Lincoln, CA; grandchildren Matthew Keeran (Bree), Springfield, MO, Hannah Adams (Audren), LaSalle, UT and Nathan O’Brien (Nichole), Vernon, FL and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie & Kathleen Brown; father and mother-in-law, George & Marge Heinz; sister-in-law Lois Riggins; and brothers-in-law Ed Riggins, Arnie Flinn and Ron Brockman.
