Norma Aileen Kirkley

Norma A. Eggers Kirkley, age 90, of Cicero, IL, passed away peacefully at 7:15 PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at the AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center of La Grange, IL. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her death.

Visitation will be held on Saturday March 5, 2022, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL located at 114 Court House Square. The funeral will be immediately following visitation services. Burial will be in the Friends Grove Cemetery.

Norma was born on September 3, 1931, in Cumberland County, IL to William and Bertha Eggers. She was married to Dallas Kirkley and moved to Cicero, IL, where she worked as a hairdresser, certified nursing assistant, and small business owner for several decades before retirement. She was a two-time survivor of breast cancer. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and pets, watching Major League Baseball, reading, attending church, doing arts and crafts, exercising, trying new foods, and listening to country music. Norma is survived by her daughter, Kelley LaBonte, of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren: Hannah LaBonte, Hailey LaBonte, and Aidden LaBonte of Chicago, IL and Justin LaBonte of El Paso, TX; one brother, Roy Eggers, and his wife Deanna of Greenup, IL; two sisters: Sharon Oakley of Toledo, IL and Evelyn Howard and her husband Dwight of Villa Grove, IL; her parakeet Kiwi; her dog Nigel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.
