Wendi Fisher Karl was a graduate of Darien High School and a caring friend to virtually everybody who had the chance to know her. Wendi touched many lives in Darien as a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Darien, long-time member of the Noroton Heights Fire Department's Women's Auxiliary, and member of the Darien Boat Club. She worked for many years as a legal assistant for the law firm of Millar & Ambrett. The daughter of Dorothy and George Fisher, Wendi was born on February 18, 1953 in Stamford and spent most her life in Darien. For the past two years, Wendi has lived in Vero Beach, Florida. After a long and valiant battle with cancer, Wendi passed away on September 17 in Vero Beach. She is survived by her husband Wayne Karl and his sons James, Allan and Jonathan, his grandchildren Robert, Emily, Anna and Aiden and her brothers Ronald and Gary Fisher. Funeral services will be held at the Noroton Presbyterian Chapel on Wednesday, September 23 at 10 am. Calling hours will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, September 22 at the Edward Lawrence Funeral home in Darien. The burial will take place immediately after the funeral services at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
