Jack Dale McDonald, 82, of Humphreys, Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan. Jack was born on January 26, 1940, the son of Joseph Wilkerson and Ruby Leona (Wendt) McDonald. On December 22, 1960, he married Minnie Charlene Hatcher. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2017. Survivors include his faithful companion dog, Wonder, of the home; three daughters: Sandy McDonald (companion Bill Ford) of Browning, Jackie White (Jim) of Galt, and Teresa Couch (Roger) of Milan; and a son, Brian McDonald, of Humphreys. 13 grandchildren: Chad "Deaner" Nida, Lenora "Nora June" Shirley, Tony Seward, Brian "Brian Keith" White, Caleb "C.J." White, Caitlin "Catiedid" White, Megan "Nicolee" Couch, Tanner "Tanner James" Couch, Cole "Cole Yonder" Lantz, Kylie "Angelica" Lantz, Patrick "Punky Dale" McDonald, Garrett McDonald, and Timothy "Tim Tim" McDonald. 17 great-grandchildren: Logan Wilkens; Warren Combs; Angela and Jasper Nida; Bethany, Madison, Logan, Evy, and Evan White; Josie White; Ashton, Aden, and Aaren Snyder; Ali McNelly; and Dominic, Austin, and Lillian Shirley. One brother, Jerry McDonald (Pam) of Liscomb, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Marion "Bubby" Hatcher (Diane) of Green City; four sisters-in-law: Barb Hatcher of Milan, Lucille Hatcher of Green Castle, Tina Hatcher of Carrollton, and Linda McDonald of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Glen, Richard, Calvin, Phillip, and Joseph McDonald Jr.; three sisters: Twila Williams, Louise Stephenson, and Bonnie Crist; nine brothers-in-law: Bill, Jesso, Donnie, Leon, and Charles Hatcher, Richard Stephenson, Glen Hill, David Eddy, and Richard Crist; five sisters-in-law: Anna Lee Hill, Nancy Eddy, Mary Alice Frazier, Mary McDonald, and Janet McDonald; granddaughter, Melissa Couch; and grandson, Dylan Couch. In the early years, Jack served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Jack worked as a farm hand for Ernie Goodman, Amil Baker, and Phillip Sayer and Terry Wynne at Sayer Farms for the last 30 years. For nearly 50 years, Jack has been a pillar in the Humphreys community, serving as Mayor and on the town board. Jack loved spending his free time hunting, fishing, playing cards, and causing mischief with his best friend, Sammie Stafford. Jack was known for always telling jokes and outlandish stories. A visitation for Jack will be held 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan with a funeral service starting at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Humphreys Cemetery in Humphreys, Missouri.
