He settled with his parents, brothers and sisters on a farm northwest of Wapella. He stayed on the farm until retiring to Whitewood in 1983. After retiring, Ken started working for other farmers and enjoyed himself greatly. He said he always wanted to farm, just didn’t want the stress that goes along with having your own farm.<br/><br/>Family was very important to Ken, whether it was teasing all his nieces and nephews, and later his granddaughters, or helping family out with any issues they may bring to him. He enjoyed watching many sports, especially golf in the winter just to see the green grass. Playing some form of cards or dice gave him great pleasure, and he was known to make up colours in Uno if it suited him.<br/><br/>He was predeceased by his wife, Lydia; brothers Jim (Joyce) Thompson, Les Thompson and Phil (Kaye) Thompson; sisters Ida (Wilf) Saunders and Peggy (George) Hay; and brother in-law Ross Reid.<br/><br/>He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Reid; son David (Melanie) Thompson; granddaughters Erica and Kara Thompson; as well as many nieces and nephews.<br/>

Kenneth Thompson passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the age of 98 years.

Ken was born in England and came to Canada in 1927. He settled with his parents, brothers and sisters on a farm northwest of Wapella. He stayed on the farm until retiring to Whitewood in 1983. After retiring, Ken started working for other farmers and enjoyed himself greatly. He said he always wanted to farm, just didn’t want the stress that goes along with having your own farm.
