Obituary

Phyllis  Doreen Bidaux

April 10, 1928 – February 10, 2022

After a lifetime of love and laughter Phyllis passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 93 years old.

Phyllis was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan to Anna Luella and Harry Shirley on April 10, 1928. She is survived by her daughter Lorraine Olson and her grandchildren and their spouses Coy (Kim), Quintin (Carmen), Dixon (Brittany), Tammy, Terrah (Warren Lelonde), and Ryan and her great grandchildren Quinn, Cash, Kalder, Eliana, her step granddaughter Courtney, her widowed son in law Terry Evenson.

Phyllis   is predeceased by her loving husband Andre Bidaux and her beloved daughter Susanne Evenson and her cherished granddaughter Minique.  Phyllis is predeceased by her siblings Betty McGregor, Sena Crossen, Blanche Shirley and Phillip Shirley (infant death)

Phyllis was raised in Dollard area to grain farmer parents before she ventured to the metropolis of Edmonton to pursue training and a career in hairdressing.  Phyllis spoke fondly of these memories and enjoyed the excitement of the city but duty to her family brought her home to southern Saskatchewan where she would meet the man she would marry. Phyllis married Andre August 19, 1950 and they raised their two children in Eastend, Saskatchewan.

Phyllis was a remarkable woman with a kind heart, generous spirit, adorable laugh, and a positive attitude.  She believed your attitude influenced your perception of your circumstances and she always tried to make the best of any situation and not dwell on the negative.  She was a beloved member of our hometown community and everyone who met her instantly adored her.   She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and her door was always open and tasty goodies were readily available to family and friends.  It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of a life so well lived but  we do so with gratitude in our hearts for having loved and been loved by such an amazing woman.  Our memories will bring us peace and comfort.

Our immediate family will lay Phyllis to rest in a private graveside service in Eastend Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Phyllis’ name may be made to Community Cats Edmonton- efunds to communitycatsedmonton@gmail.com or charity of choice.
