Obituary

Our hearts are heavy with the passing of our dear mother, wife, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend Alma Patricia Grifno, age 52. Her final sunset with us was Friday, January 28, 2022 in the evening. She now joins her beloved mother Yolanda Andrade in Heaven.

Patricia's first sunrise was July 1, 1969 in Mexico City, Mexico where she was born. She lived most of her life in Austin, Texas where she earned her bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin. She had fond memories of having lived in California for a few years and teaching English to children in South Korea for a couple of years. She served the State of Texas for more than 15 years, most of which was with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

She cherished her daughters, Gabby and Abby, who made her so proud. She was pleased about their personal and academic achievements and cheered them on at every event she could. She knew and was delighted that their successes were due to their hard work. As a mom who home-schooled them during their elementary school years, this was especially gratifying for her.

Although she and Tommy had been married a few years, it seemed that they had been together much longer. He said that no one had ever loved him as much as she did. He is heartbroken that his Trisha (as he called her) is no longer with him.

She enjoyed watching sunsets, going to the beach and reading. She also liked watching movies and listening to two of her favorite musical groups, The Cranberries and The Doors.

Patricia is survived by her daughters Gabrielle Grifno and Abigail Grifno, husband Tommy Lindley, older sister Sara Gutierrez, niece Angelica Gutierrez, younger brother Miguel Rodriguez, several aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Knowing that she is in the arms of our Father in Heaven will give us comfort in the days and years to come.

Visitation for family and friends will take place Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at All Faiths Funeral Home located at 8507 North IH-35, Austin, Texas 78753 (512-339-8878). The service will be held immediately after at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.

We request that attire be joyful as it will be a celebration of her life. Instead of flowers, we ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name. Thank you.
