Richard "Tom" Thomas Hoyt, 90, of Yorktown passed away Friday January 28, 2022 at his residence. He was born on September 12, 1931 in Muncie, IN, a son of the late Marion Lewis and Hilda P. (Rahe) Hoyt. 

Tom was a 1949 graduate of Stoney Creek High School in Parker City. He retired in 1988 from Borg Warner following 37 years of service; He was a member of the Borg Warner Sympathy Club and the UAW local #287.  Tom was also a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge in Portland. 

Tom is survived by his children, Cindy (Carl Dennis) Jester of Yorktown, Christopher Thomas (Sharon) Hoyt of Muncie, Jeffrey (Melinda) Hoyt of Yorktown and Jeannie Kay Knight of Daleville; grandchildren, Brad (Liz) Jester of Georgia, Tina (John) Coleman of Chesterfield, Melissa Pilz of Wawaka, Christa K. Hoyt of Kokomo, Gentry Thomas (Haleigh) Hoyt of Muncie and their baby son, soon to arrive, Ashlee Thomas, Ryan (Mary) Byrd of Muncie, Sarah (Tyler Roy) Hoyt of Chesterfield, Lindsey Hoyt of Yorktown, Holly (Bob) Oliphant of North Webster, Amy (Jesse) Savage of Indianapolis; great grandchildren, Cory and Katie Tate, Kayla and Brianna Pilz, Lincoln Jester, Eli Byrd, Lilly Byrd, Rylan and Axel Roy, Evelyn, Vivian and Ivy Oliphant, Alexander, Atticus, Ashford and Arthur Savage; siblings, Barbara Gooden of Muncie, Marion (Jane) Hoyt of Parker City, Phillip (Barbara) Hoyt of Livingston, TX, Paul (Suzie) Hoyt of Muncie and Mary (Jack) Griffith of New Mexico; sister-in-law, Mary Hoyt of Muncie; several aunts and cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Raymond and Albert Hoyt.
