Jimmy Ray Lanham, 75 of Covington GA, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022 in his home surrounded by family after a lengthy illness. Jimmy was born February 15, 1946, in Cartersville Ga, to Elmer Earl Lanham and Laura Beatrice Teague Lanham. He attended school and graduated from Summerville High School in Summerville S.C. Where he was a star football player. After high school he went on to work for General Electric and then for Lockeed Martin. He then went on to graduate from the Vidal Sassoon Academy in California, where he then pursued a successful career as a hairstylist for many years. He was a partner in numerous shops {The London House and Hair Benders} in Rome, GA with his brother and mother. He had such a passion for life, including many hobbies. He loved fishing, hunting, bowling, going to the beach and best of all he loved painting. He also loved music. Jimmy was a loving father to his two daughters, Laura Norcom and Lisa Watkins. And a proud (PawPaw) grandfather and great-grandfather. Five grandchildren: Joshua Price, Jessica Roney, Dustin Cook, Casey Cook and Holly Harrington. Five great-grandchildren: Isaac Cook, Madi Price, Scarlett Ryan, Brady Price and Lilly Cook. He also had one brother Edward Lanham and one sister Diane Ledbetter. A brother-in-law John Ledbetter. Two nephews: Earl Lanham and Dale Ledbetter and Two nieces: Lorrie Lanham and Kimberly Ray Ledbetter (In which she was named after him). Also, many cousins who loved him dearly. Most of all we would like to remember him because he had the most precious and biggest heart, along with a personality that would always make us smile. Fly high with angels now Daddy.
