<p><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size:24px;">Mattie Ruth Thompson Brannon,&nbsp;81, peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded&nbsp;by her family on January&nbsp;26, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late&nbsp;Alvin and Ruth Thompson and the widow of L.C. Brannon.&nbsp;Mrs.&nbsp;Brannon&nbsp;was born in Spartanburg County and attended&nbsp;Foster&rsquo;s Grove High School. She&nbsp;retired from Howard Johnson Restaurant and Flounder&#39;s Fish Camp.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:24px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Mrs.&nbsp;Brannon was a member of Monks Grove Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the Sympathy Club and Missionaries Ministry. She&nbsp;was a very humble woman who loved her family dearly. Her favorite pastime was to socialize over the phone,&nbsp;watching lifetime movies and completing word&nbsp;search puzzles.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size:24px;">Left to cherish fond and loving memories in their hearts are her two daughters:&nbsp;Sandra Holcomb (Reginald) of Boiling Springs and Mary Davis of the home; two granddaughters Jennifer Holcomb and Jessica M. Holcomb both of Boiling Springs; one great-grandchild Kamiyah J. Holcomb of Boiling Springs; one&nbsp;brother:&nbsp;Willie &quot;Buster&quot; Thompson of Chesnee; three sisters,&nbsp;Josephine Means, Christine Wilkins and Emma Finger of Spartanburg; a special&nbsp;sister-in-law,Jessie Thompson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.&nbsp;In addition to her parents and spouse she&nbsp;was preceded in death by her&nbsp;son Kenneth Brannon; son-in-law Harold Davis; brothers: James Thompson, John Thompson, and Joseph Thompson; sisters: Mamie Jeter, Lillie Mae Fullenwider, and Daisy Rice. Arrangements are&nbsp; with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.</span></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Mattie Ruth Thompson Brannon, 81, peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family on January 26, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Ruth Thompson and the widow of L.C. Brannon. Mrs. Brannon was born in Spartanburg County and attended Foster’s Grove High School.
