Bill Walters was born August 28, 1929, in Laurinburg, NC.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph Allen and Elsie Mishoe Williams. She grew up in church playing the piano, singing, and mentoring others.  She was a long-time member of the Springfield Church of God and Multitudes Church.

She worked many years at Springs Mill in Laurel Hill, but she ended her career with her own child’s daycare called The Play House. While she was able, she enjoyed the following: cooking, swimming, traveling to the mountains, watching TV shows, sewing, church events, and phone chats with her family and friends. She also loved singing in church and travel singing with The Williams’s Family. She was a prayer warrior, and God was always the center of her life.  Her weekly trips to McDonalds for breakfast and Bojangles for lunch were always a treat for her. And those who knew her well, knew she loved her chocolate, especially Hershey’s kisses. She was a classy lady and loved dressing the part. Most of all, she loved God and her family.

She was preceded in death by her love, Lawrence Thomas (L.T.) Walters. They were married for 63 years prior to his passing. She was also preceded in death by her two sons; Michael and Pat Walters; three sisters, Marjorie Allen, Mary Williams, and Doris Peele; as well as two brothers, Jackie Williams and Billy Frank Williams; and sister-in-law, Evie Hinson.  She is survived by three sisters; Brenda Clark (Tommy) of Laurel Hill, NC, Barbara Shoemake of Wagram, NC, and Elsie Granville (Blanchard) of Pinehurst, NC; and two brothers, Joe Williams of Ocala, FL, and Gerald Williams (Levon) of Laurinburg, NC. She left behind two daughters-in-law; Anne Raber and Terri Rash Walters. She had one sister-in-law by marriage, Linda Wallace (Paul) of Gibson, NC. She was blessed with three grandchildren; Thomas P. Walters, II (Jeri Lynn) of Wagram, NC, Rev. Glenn Walters (Emily) of Fort Mill, SC, and Kasey Norton (Michael) of Charlotte, NC.  She was a very proud great-grandmother to seven great grands; Patrick Walters, Joshua Walters, Noah Walters, Mekendyn Walters, Micah Norton, Caleb Norton, and Andrew Norton.  There are also numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly and two very special friends, Ms. Donnie Stanton and Ms. Edell Freeman.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Multitudes Church, 15301 Jim Calhoun Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352 or Shabbach Youth Conference at www.shabbach.com.
