Romona Fay Robinson Moore, Oklahoma Obituary

Romona Fay Robinson

Romona Robinson passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, due to pre-existing conditions complicated by Covid. Romona was born on May 8, 1932, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, an only child to William Gaddis &Velma (Rogers) Gaddis. She spent her childhood heavily involved in school & church activities. Her parents loved to dance, & she loved to dance from childhood on. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1950, where she was a proud member of the Chickettes Pep Club.

She married Ben William Hudgins III on November 11, 1950. A short time later they settled in Del City, Oklahoma. This union produced five children. She was very active in her children’s school & their activities as a homeroom mother, Girl Scout Leader, & taxi driver for numerous gymnastics & dance lessons. Later, she operated a home daycare. Romona was a talented seamstress sewing for four daughters & her sister. She was known for her custom-made Christmas stockings for her ever growing family. She was also an excellent cook with many of her dishes & recipes passed down through the generations.

Her working career outside the home began as a temporary office worker at Genie Personnel that turned into a permanent position at Standard Life Insurance. After the family moved to Tecumseh, she worked at Mission Hill Hospital & for Dr. Francis Davis. She then went to work for the State of Oklahoma in various positions in DHS, primarily in Elder Care. She retired from the state & married Raymond Robinson in Dec 1994. With this union, she gained four additional sons. After Christmas that year, they RV’d for over six years, traveling all over the USA, the southern Canadian Provinces & into northern Mexico. After Robbie passed in 2001, Romona returned permanently to Moore, OK. She loved her family, babies (any babies), dancing, traveling, playing cards & dominoes, cooking, & sewing, but, most of all, she cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She was a Granny Deluxe never missing an opportunity to celebrate any of her family’s accomplishments.

She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, & stepson Bill.
