<p>Margaret Jane Patton Colbaugh age 87, passed away on January 21, 2022.&nbsp; She was a life long resident of Rhea County and a member of New Union Baptist Church.&nbsp; Her hobbies included reading, Bible study, watching game shows, spending time with family and going for hair appointments with her &ldquo;hair doctor&rdquo; Kathy Martin.&nbsp; Margaret instilled a love of reading early on in all her children with regular trips to the Dayton library.&nbsp; She had a gift for encouraging other people and always had a kind word for everyone she came in contact with.&nbsp; Most of all she loved the Lord and spent time in prayer and Bible Study every day.</p> <p>Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Colbaugh; parents, Bill and Mary Patton; and grandson, Dylan Colbaugh.</p> <p>She is survived by children; Karen Ward, Ray (Kim) Colbaugh, Linda (Ronnie) Shoemate all of Dayton.&nbsp; Grandchildren; Ashley (Joseph) McSpadden, Katlyn (Culley) Hawthorne and Kristen Colbaugh, great-grandchildren; Bayley and Tinley McSpadden and Westin Hawthorne all of Dayton Tennessee.&nbsp;</p> <p>The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice for their care of Margaret and special caregivers, Mildred Arnold, Madeleine Miller and Greta MacPherson</p> <p>There will be a graveside service on Monday January 24, 2022 at 10 AM at Buttram Cemetery with Dr. Danny Ruehling and Rev Clyde Fitzgerald officiating.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Obituary

Margaret Jane Patton Colbaugh age 87, passed away on January 21, 2022.  She was a life long resident of Rhea County and a member of New Union Baptist Church.  Her hobbies included reading, Bible study, watching game shows, spending time with family and going for hair appointments with her “hair doctor” Kathy Martin.  Margaret instilled a love of reading early on in all her children with regular trips to the Dayton library.  She had a gift for encouraging other people and always had a kind word for everyone she came in contact with.  Most of all she loved the Lord and spent time in prayer and Bible Study every day.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Colbaugh; parents, Bill and Mary Patton; and grandson, Dylan Colbaugh.
