NELSON- Sylvia R. "Sally" (nee Buddenhagen)<br>Jan 16, 2022, of the village of Williamsville, NY. Daughter of the late Ruth Buddenhagen Wesp and Frederick Buddenhagen. Sylvia "Sally" is survived by her husband James Nelson, daughter Diane Nelson and son Brian Nelson. Sally was born in Buffalo and lived in her beloved Williamsville home for 88 years. Sally graduated from Williamsville South high school, Syracuse University with a Master's in Education from SUNY Buffalo State. Sally worked both as a computer programmer for Cornell laboratory and a math teacher for the Williamsville school system. Sally was a lifelong member of the Williamsville United Methodist church (WUMC) where she celebrated many milestones of her life to include her marriage to her husband of 63 years. One of her great joys was singing and fellowship experienced as a member of the WUMC choir. Sally was a strong, resilient and cheerful woman in spite of her challenges with Leukemia and Multiple Sclerosis. She will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, neighbor and friend. The Nelson family is thankful to her faithful neighbors, friends and caregivers. As an alternative to flowers the family would like you to consider donations to MS Society, Leukemia Society or Buffalo Botanical Gardens. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service Thursday evening, January 27th at 6:30 PM in Williamsville United Methodist Church, 5681 Main Street Williamsville, NY. Masks required.
