Maria Pereira passed away at Mt. Cartier Court, Revelstoke on Sunday, January 16th, 2022, at the age of 89 years.  A Mass of Christian Burial was held from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Friday, January 21st with Father Luan Vu celebrant.  Interment followed in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Revelstoke Hospice Society, Box 3133, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Maria.

Maria was born in Flores, Azores on May 21, 1932, and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1960.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.  Maria also liked to volunteer for the apple pie sale at the Catholic Church.

Maria was predeceased by her husband Jose in 2008, brother Francisco and sister-in-law Filamonia.  She is survived by her daughter Emily of Vernon; two granddaughters: Katie (Katrina) of the Lower Mainland and Samantha of Australia; brother Joe (Maria) Dias of Revelstoke and sister Emilia (Manuel) Amaral of Revelstoke.
