Edna Mae Moten, 100, of Rea, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022 in her home. She was born on August 4, 1921 in Petersburg, VA, daughter of the late George W. and Pigeon Harris. Edna enjoyed BINGO and going to the casino to play slots; she was even able to go to the casino on her 100th birthday. On March 3, 1946 she married John E. Moten, who passed away on January 3, 2009. Surviving are a son, Ron (Patty) Moten and their Florida family all of Daytona Beach, FL; Debra Peeples of Rea and Carol Jean Moten of Avella; three grandchildren, Brittany Peeples (George), Regina Peeples (Keith) and Hillary Peeples; a great granddaughter, Amaya Cox; and a niece, Sandra (Don) Wheat of Prince George, VA. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is a sister, Blanche Watt. At the request of the deceased there will be no visitations. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
