Clarence Keiper, "Sudsy", 84, Johnstown, died January 18, 2022 at home. Born January 6, 1938, in Johnstown, son of Clarence S. and Colletta (Fitzsimmons) Keiper. Preceded in death by parents;, step-mother, Bertha (Wolford); son, Mark; and brother, Robert Helsel. Survived by wife, Judy (Amick); daughters, Patricia Simeone, and Jodi (Terry Geibig); fiancée of Mark, Joan Henry; grandchildren, Joseph Simeone, Andrea Simeone, Grace Simeone, Kayla Keiper, and Alyssa Keiper; and 4 grand dogs. Brother of Kurt (Debbie Maldet); Lida Prestipino; Barbara Mangus; and Joann Leary. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Sudsy was a member of Oakland UM Church. He was a 50 year member of Cambria Lodge 278 F&AM and Shriners; American Legion Post 849; VFW Post 155; and a life member of Oakland VFD as well as county and state fire associations. He was the owner/operator of the former Oakland AMOCO, and served as a PA State Constable. He was a graduate of Johnstown High School, and served in the Army National Guard for 12 years. The Keiper family extends a heart-felt thank you to Chris, Amanda, Margaret, Heather, and Pastor John Bennett from Family Hospice of UPMC; and to personal caregivers Cathy, Barb, Margie, Lori and Terri, for the loving care given to Sudsy. Friends received Saturday from 10AM until the hour of service at noon at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford St. Interment, Fishertown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital or the charity of one's choice.
