<p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;">After a long fight with cancer, Lynne passed away with her kids and her best friend Debbie Hewitt by her side on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the age of 71 years.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;">Left to carry her light are her son Justin Lavallee with granddaughters Claire and Camryn; daughter Tanis (Quentin) Gardiner with grandchildren Sarah and Max; mother Evelyn Higgins; siblings Danny (Linda), Laurie Smith, Allan (Shirley) Sokolosky, Terry (Ingrid) Sokolosky and Leanne Rivet; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.&nbsp; She was predeceased by her father Demer Sokolosky and brother Blaine Sokolosky.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;">Lynne was a beautiful person inside and out.&nbsp; She was unselfish, generous and very caring.&nbsp; During her fight with cancer she finally found the courage and strength to take care of herself.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;">Cremation has taken place, the family will celebrate Lynne&rsquo;s life at a later date.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;">The family would like to thank Krista from CancerCare Manitoba, all the staff at Lions Prairie Manor and her friend Debbie Hewitt for their empathy and compassion.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;">As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Lynne&rsquo;s memory to Portage Women&rsquo;s Shelter - Prairie Habour, Box 1541, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3P1.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;">A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.&nbsp; www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com</span></span></p>

After a long fight with cancer, Lynne passed away with her kids and her best friend Debbie Hewitt by her side on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the age of 71 years.
