A. Louise Leach Obituary

Portsmouth – A. Louise Leach, 92, widow of William B. Leach, of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the Edgewood Centre, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 27, 1929 in Hartford, Connecticut to Harry B. and Anna M. (Cole) Dore. Louise was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1947. Louise's first job was at the Civic Theater as an usherette. She then worked as a bookkeeper for local musician, Nelson K. Ward, helping in his music business. Later, she went into the US Civil Service, working for the Commissary and Finance Departments, as a bookkeeper at Pease AFB, retiring after many years of exemplary service. As the Matriarch, Louise’s greatest joy was nurturing and loving her family. She treasured her many friendships and continually made new connections, enfolding all into her beloved family. Her generosity extended to opening her home to many in need over the years. She was kind, compassionate and supportive to all, never judging, and always loving. She will be greatly missed by many. Besides her parents and husband, William, Louise was preceded in death by her siblings, William F.H. Dore, Bernard Cole, Mary Trahey, Lorraine Bryant, and Carol Brandt. Survivors include her children, William O. Leach (Pam) of Blairsville, GA, Ronald B. Leach of Phoenix, AZ, Susan L. Wysocki of White Plains, NY, and Sharon A. Zuckerman (Steven) of Fort Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Shawna Leach, Shelbee Macomber, Matilda Wysocki, and Alexander Zuckerman; many great and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, here and in Canada. Services: Graveside services will be held in late June at Lovell Lake Cemetery, in Sanbornville NH. An announcement will follow with date and location details. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Shriners Hospital for Children and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital In addition, The Phoenix School of Salem, MA and Ledyard Charter School in Lebanon, NH were favored local charities.
