Linda Ross Denver

Our wonderful and beautiful Mom and Nana, Linda Ross Denver, passed away from respiratory failure and returned home to our Heavenly Father’s loving arms on Tuesday, 18 January 2022.

Linda was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on 14 December 1947, to Loryn S. Ross and Barbara Gene Hair. She is the 2nd oldest of her siblings and grew up on a farm in Pleasant Valley, Utah, until just prior to her senior year in high school when she moved with her family to Mesa, AZ for the winter. They returned to Pleasant Valley, Utah in the spring.

She had an idyllic childhood and was a farm girl through and through, she bailed hay, moved cattle, and fed more than 30 bummer lambs by bottle. She loved her horse, Goldie, and especially loved to run her through the fields as fast as she could go. Linda loved to spend time at the pond with her siblings and cousins, swimming in the summer and ice skating in the winter. She was active in 4H and loved to help her Dad on the farm. Linda was crowned Miss Duchesne County in 1966 and represented the county at the Miss Utah Scholarship Pageant held at the Utah State Fair, later that year.

Linda attended Union High School in Roosevelt, Utah. She fell in love with and dated Kent Elmer Denver through high school. They were married on 23 June 1967 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have three (3) Children: Michele Denver, Shaun (Cody) Denver, and Kristine (Matt) Gibson; and five (5) Grandchildren: Kaylee Denver, Jaclynn Gibson, Colton (Emma) Denver, Carston Denver, and Kamri Gibson. Linda loved Roosevelt and the surrounding communities, she loved working at Union High School in the counseling office. Kent and Linda divorced after 30 years of marriage, she then moved to Springville, Utah. Linda loved being a mom, her children and grandchildren were her joy. She had such a big heart full of so much love to give and always wanted more children, when she met Nanette Tsatsaronis and her two (2) beautiful children, William Kasey Burnett and Rachel Burnett, they captured her heart and she heart-adopted them into our family.

Linda loved the outdoors, especially camping with her family, floating down the river, mountain golf tournaments (watch out for that tree!), hiking, singing and dancing around the campfire, and making good food for her family--she made the best Fry Bread for Navajo Tacos! (Taught to her by her beloved mother-in law, Norma Denver).

She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has held numerous ward and stake callings, including Relief Society President, Young Women’s President, YW Camp Director, Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Relief Society Teacher, Compassionate Service Leader, Welcoming Committee Leader, Temple Worker at the Provo LDS Temple and Provo City Center LDS Temple, and many more. She has been a force for good in our family and has touched many other lives with her beautiful spirit and unbounding faith in our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.

Linda had a fun and adventurous spirit and loved to travel. She was full of life, had a positive attitude, and made the best of any situation. She loved to talk politics and share her views. She was a great listener and advice-giver. She exuded the Christlike attributes of kindness, compassion, empathy, and unending love. She gave great hugs and loved to share her hugs with anyone that needed one. She is truly loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by her Children, Grandchildren, and Siblings: Jeanie (Allen) Brown, Wayne (Jody) Ross, and Sharlyn (Lynn) Abbott, as well as many nieces and nephews, that she loves dearly.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Loryn S. Ross and Barbara Gene Hair; Grandparents Francis Marion Ross and Harriet Gladys Shields, and Leland Hair and Frances Christy Bench; Her was-band Kent Denver (he was her husband), and other loved ones.

All Family and Friends are welcome to join us for the Viewing, Celebration of Life, and Interment. The Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held Monday evening, 7 February 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Cadbury Lane Meeting House), 1627 Cadbury Lane, Springville, Utah 84663. The Viewing will be from 5:00 PM-5:30 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life, dinner will be served. Interment will be held on Tuesday, 8 February 2022 at 12:00 PM at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Roosevelt, Utah, with tributes by her siblings and the dedication of the grave.
