Robert "Bobby" Hatcher Obituary

Robert “Bobby” Hatcher, age 77, of Pearcy, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022. Bobby was born on September 17, 1944, in Glenallen, Mississippi, the son of Erval O. Hatcher and Ella Mae Sigler Hatcher. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Amias Averett; six brothers, Jerry Hatcher, Woody Hatcher, Terry Hatcher, Cookie Hatcher, Billy Hatcher, Mitchell Abney; and two sisters, Diane Welch and Gale Abney. He was a beautiful person, the most loving incredible father anyone could ask for. He taught us the most important things in life. He was a Christian, a God-fearing man, who loved Jehovah and Jesus Christ with his whole heart. He was definitely a funny person, saying the simplest of things would have us cracking up. Bobby loved music and singing to music. He went to Louisiana State University, where he played the trombone in the band. He always joked that he played for the LSU Tigers, leaving people to think he played football for them. Then he would say “Well I did, I played in the band”. Bobby is survived by his daughter, Amie (Christian) Hatcher of Pearcy; two sons, Jason Hatcher of Walker, Louisiana and Nathan Hatcher of Prairieville, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Kaylus Jones, Jalen Jacob and Adam Hatcher; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Jones and Ava Jones; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Susan Hatcher of Prairieville, Louisiana, Curtis and Cathy Hatcher of French Settlement, Louisiana, Ronnie and Grace Hatcher of Darrow, Louisiana, Paul and Robin Hatcher of Denham Springs, Louisiana and Junior Hatcher of Baton Rouge; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicky Hughes of Dutchtown, Louisiana, Hope and Gilbert Vincent of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dolly Hatcher of Natchez, Louisiana, Sible Clark of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Thresa and Carl Brown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many wonderful friends who will miss him. A Memorial Visitation Celebrating Bobby’s Life will be at 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 20th, in the Chapel at Smith Family Funeral Home-Hot Springs (formerly Davis-Smith Funeral Home, 2205 Airport Road).
