Earnest McCullough Jr. was born on April 6, 1936 in Pickens, Mississippi to Earnest McCullough Sr. and Nancy Stanford. He was preceded in death by both parents, his sisters Auristeen Smith and Nancy Tucker; and his brother Leaster McCullough.

Earnest graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Camden Mississippi.

Earnest was united in marriage to Teretha Harper on January 21, 1958. To this union (2) children were born. He retired after over 32 years of dedicated service with  ATA, where he received countless acknowledgments and awards for his superior service; including but not limited to the coveted Distinguished Driver, Grand Master Award.

Earnest was a devote christian and was united with Friendship Baptist Church in 1990. He was ordained as Deacon in October 2004, was DAN Sheepfold Advisory, a member of Sunday School-Class #4, Bus Ministry, Cheerful Helpers and choir. Earnest served  the church faithfully until his homecoming.

Earnest enjoyed fishing, cooking out, watching westerns and sports, especially baseball and spending time with his grandchildren. He is known for his incredibly infectious smile and kind heart.

Earnest departed this life on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 64 years, Teretha McCullough, of the home, Daughter Sonya Renee Harris, Overland Park, KS, son Tony McCullough, Grandview, MO., 8 grandchildren Stephon Harris, Angelica Harris, Overland Park, KS Sean(Holly)Harris Independence MO, ,Arkesha(Sean)Bland, Lake St Louis, MO, Spencer Harris, Oakland, CA., Skyler Harris, Chandler, AZ. Tia(Zack)Borrell Omaha, NE, and Shania McCullough, Austin, TX, Six great-grandchildren Amiya Harris , Braylon Harris, Jaxon Harris, Malia Bland, Mila Bland and Carter Edwards. Four sisters, Lavell W1illiams, Milred Franklin and Jean(Pearl) Simmons all of Kansas City, MO. Lena Johnson, Indianapolis, IN. Two brothers Terry(Carla) McCullough, Indianapolis, IN and Gene(Tara) Henry, Grandview, MO. And a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 28, 2022, 11:00am Friendship Baptist Church. Interment Longview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
