Velma Louise Swarer, age 74, lifelong resident of Coweta, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Velma was born on June 25, 1947 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Pansy (Moss) Kelley.  She received her education in Coweta Public Schools.  Velma married the love of her life, Lonnie L. Swarer, Sr. on June 15, 1965 in Coweta, Oklahoma and they were blessed with four children.  She was a devoted homemaker for most of her life.  Velma enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Velma is survived by two daughters, Kelli Gray and Tabatha Noel; nine grandchildren, Jake Hause, Melissa Hause, Logan Noel, Joade Parmley, Justus Parmley, Felisha Faulkner, Lonnie Swarer III, Alexa Gray, and Olivia Gray; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephew, other relatives, and friends.

Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Swarer Sr.; her parents, Kenneth and Pansy Kelley; her daughter, Sheila Swarer; her son, Lonnie Swarer Jr.; three brothers, James Kelley, Luther Kelley, and Donnie Kelley; and one great granddaughter, Brinley Parmley.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home.  Services celebrating Velma’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Dean Bridges officiating.  Velma will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
