John Martin Guenter MacGregor, Manitoba Obituary

John Martin Guenter

John Martin Guenter was born in 1944 to Jacob and Elizabeth Guenter, he was the third of six children. He was born at home in an old log house near Rabbit Lake Saskatchewan.

They stay around Rabbit lake for several years till they moved to Steinbach where they stayed another few years before moving to Austin in 1951. By then all his siblings were born and he was starting school.

Following his years in school and working on the family farm he spent five years exploring and working all over BC. After his fifth year he realized the grass wasn’t greener on the other side and moved back to Manitoba for good. But while working in BC he found a new reason for living, he found a new relationship with Jesus Christ which completely changed his outlook on life. This led him to many ministry opportunities such as a counselor at a bible camp, church plants, Sunday schools and many many bible studies. His knowledge of Gods word grew quickly with his great love of reading and his insatiable desire to know Jesus intimately. He literally read hundreds of books to try to learn more about his new best friend, Jesus Christ!

In 1975 Dad married the love of his life, Joanne Neufeld from Niverville and in 1977 they brought Trevor John Guenter into this world and Angela Faye Guenter two years later in 1979. Dad spent his remaining working years doing construction, driving bus and finally Rona lumber yard for his last 18 years before retirement.

Dad always rooted for the underdog and made friends with the friendless, ALWAYS putting others ahead of himself! Dad had one driving force in his life, grow in his relationship in Jesus Christ! Nothing else came close other then his genuine relationships with family and friends which were expressed in his last words, JESUS JESUS JESUS!

He will be greatly missed by his wife Joanne of 46 years of marriage

Son Trevor and Madelynn Guenter with their two sons Kyle and Jack (Elizabeth)

Daughter Angela Lopez (Rafa 2018) daughter Ariela

And many family members and friends.
