Richard "Dick" Bradley Obituary

Richard Bradley, 86, of Bradford, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022, at High Pointe House in Haverhill. He was born in Haverhill on January 7, 1936, the son of the late Frank and Eileen Bradley, and resided in the Ward Hill section of the city. Richard spent his entire life in his beloved city of Haverhill. He attended Sacred Hearts School and graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1953. Richard volunteered as a guardsman for the Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After basic training in San Antonio's Lackland Air Force Base, he was stationed in Manchester, NH. He then worked 41 years for Western Electric, later known as Lucent Technologies, as a Draftsman. From 1986-2000, he owned and operated Mr. K's Auto School with his best friend, and wife, Elizabeth. Richard's interests revolved around his family entirely. Over twenty years were spent supporting his children's passions by volunteering at swim meets, hockey rinks, baseball fields, track meets, road races and more. The blessing of grandchildren paved the way to becoming a superfan. He attended every game, recital, meet, concert, and school event that he could and then shared his pride with anyone who would listen. When he wasn't cheering on his grandchildren, he could usually be found walking his cherished chocolate lab, Rosie, down at the Haverhill Stadium with his dear friends. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth C. (Flaherty) Bradley. He leaves behind his children, Sean P. Bradley and his wife Ritu of San Diego, CA and Brenda E. Hogan and her husband John of Atkinson, NH. He was the loving Papa to Taylor E. Hogan, Emily M. Hogan, Ryan B. Hogan, and Kushal D. Bradley. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Sunday, Jan. 23, from 2-4 PM at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford. His Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Jan. 24 at 10AM in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 So. Main St., Bradford. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, by mail to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015 (https://www.stjude.org/donate) or to High Pointe House by mail to Home Health Foundation, Attn: Community Engagement, 360 Merrimack St., Building 9, Lawrence, MA 01843 (https://www.homehealthfoundation.org/donate) To share a memory or for more information, please visit www.farmerfuneralhomes.com
