William Thomas Hicks

William Thomas Hicks, 62, of Oliver Springs, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at his home. He was born August 3, 1953 in Aiken, South Carolina, the son of Paul Thomas Hicks and Willene Ford Hicks. Mr. Hicks retired from Fowler's Furniture where he was a truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hicks was "tinkerer", who loved working with his hands. He also enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local #50 of Knoxville and the Millwright Local, #1544 of Nashville. He is survived by sons, Shawn T. Hicks of Kodak and Cory W. Hicks and wife Reagan of Oak Ridge; daughter, Wendy Elizabeth Hicks of Clinton; sisters, Patti Hicks Stewart and husband Gene of Clinton and Jayne Gregory of Lake City; 6 grandchildren, Jackquline Willene Hicks, Ivy-Lee, Hope and Gabe Hicks, Gabriel Tristen Hicks and Elysha Nichole Hicks; and 2 great-grandsons, Elliott and Jameson. In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Hicks will be cremated. The family asks that any memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of his favorite charities.
