Bennett, Mary M., 79, formerly of Pawtucket, died on January 10, 2022 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home.  She was the spouse of Bobbye J. “Sandy” Sanders.  Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Frederick L. Bennett Sr. and Mary (Hutchinson) Bennett.

Mary was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1963.  She served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1964-1977, achieving the rank of Captain.  She also worked for the State of Rhode Island for 12 years before retiring.

Besides her spouse, Mary is survived by three sisters, Fredlin M. Bennett of Middletown, Jacqueline J. Bennett of Warwick, and Martha-Anne Condon of Glocester.  She was the sister of the late Frederick L. Bennett, Jr. and James H. Bennett.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 11 am - 12 Noon in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, with a service to follow at Noon.  Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org
