Forbes, ND-Memorial service for Daniel “Danny” C. Kempf, 45, of Forbes will be 10:00 am, Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ellendale. The Rev. Paul O.S. Preus will officiate. The service will be live streamed and available at www.Carlsenfh.com under Daniel’s obituary.

Danny died January 13, 2022, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital from COVID-19.

Daniel Charles, son of Jacob Harvey and Karen (Holty) Kempf was born August 23, 1976, at Ellendale, ND. He was the middle child and was raised on the farm near Forbes with his brother, Thomas and sister, Laura. He graduated from high school in 1995.

Danny took over the farm operation in March 2009 and in August 2009, he was united in marriage to Nicole Geffre. Together, they have two beautiful daughters, Savannah born in 2010 and Olivia in 2012. Danny was very devoted to his daughters.

Danny was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Forbes and the Frederick Volunteer Fire Department.

Grateful for having shared Danny’s life are his daughters, Savannah, and Olivia Kempf; mother, Karen Kempf of Aberdeen, sister, Laura Kempf of Gettysburg, SD, and girlfriend, Linnea Dahlberg and her daughters, Kristina, Kailey and Alyssa.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, brother, Thomas, grandparents, Gottlieb and Erma (Dye) Kempf and Ferdinand and Laura Mae (Johnston) Holty and his uncle George.

Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Ellendale has been entrusted with arrangements.
