Charles Ross Darlington

Dr. Charles Ross Darlington, Jr., 74, of Thorndale died Saturday, January 8, 2022. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Charles Ross and Doris A. La Mar Darlington. Ross was a 1965 graduate of Coatesville High School. In 1972, he graduated from Weidner University and in 1976, he graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ross served in the US Navy during Vietnam Era. Ross was in private practice from 1981 – 2003, and was chief of staff at Brandywine Hospital from 1994-1998. At the time of his death, Ross was a Physician Advisor at Einstein Medical Center in Montgomery County. He was 40 year member of Rotary Club of Coatesville. He served as President in 2002-2003 and Sargent of Arms for many years. He received Rotarian of the Year Award in 2005-2006, and was famous for cooking hamburgers at the Strawberry Festival. Ross was a member of Coatesville Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf. Ross enjoyed cooking, photography and film making, especially his most recent film, Blind Vision. Ross is survived by his sister, Maryellen Winn of Coatesville and his brother, Robert Darlington of Stafford, VA; 5 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews. Ross’s funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11:30am at St. Peter Church. Visitation will begin at 10am. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown. Memorials in Ross’ honor may be made to St. Peter Church 2835 Manor Road, Coatesville, PA 19320 or to Rotary Club of Coatesville Foundation 279 Hurley Rd, Coatesville, PA 19320.
