Ellen Eileen Santen

Ellen E. Santen of Fountain Valley passed away on January 6, 2022, the age of 83. Eileen was born in Bellshill, Scotland on November 5, 1938 to Charles and Ellen Trainer. She was the oldest of 3 children. She spent her early years in Scotland before moving to Los Angeles, CA in 1959 at the age of 21. Eileen met Robert at a Catholic youth dance at St. Anthony Church in Long Beach in 1964. They were married June 18, 1966 and were happily married for 55 years. In 1972 she moved to Fountain Valley with her family were she resided for 49 years. Eileen was loyal wife and dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a grandma. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert W. Santen; one daughter, Erin E. Santen (Michael Danke); two sons, Robert A. Santen (Beatriz), and Tim E. Santen (Kellie); four grandchildren, Scarlett A. Santen, Hazel J. Santen, Olive E. Santen and William E. Santen. She also leaves behind two sisters, Beth Morris of Scotland and Jean Trainer of Scotland.

Eileen was beloved by many and enjoyed various activities with her family and friends including dancing, Zumba classes, reading, and her love for genealogy. She was committed to her church and served faithfully. She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Please join us celebrating her life Thursday January 13, 2022 beginning at 12:00pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 17270 Ward St, Fountain Valley. A private interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Ave, Huntington Beach.
