Obituary

Diana Jean Whitworth entered the joy set before her on Jan. 8, 2022, after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on May 25, 1961.

She is survived by Lee Whitworth, her husband of thirty-eight years; her eight children and nine grandchildren; her parents Ward and Judy Billingsley; and her three siblings.

Diana had a personal and powerful relationship with God based on the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. She embraced Jesus as her Savior at the age of five and lived a life full of the evidence of His grace. As a wife, mother, daughter, sister, homemaker, missionary, friend, counselor, and speaker, she was quick to give God the glory for her accomplishments and for the lives she impacted. Diana's highest goal was to share the good news that Christ has died for the sins of the world. She wanted everyone to understand that eternal salvation is a free offer because Jesus has paid the full price; any soul who accepts this offer is granted forgiveness and eternal life. In sharing this truth with the world, we her family honor her living and dying wish. We remember a woman who served others tirelessly; who practiced hospitality in every circumstance; who spoke truth without timidity; who endured hardship without complaint; who gained all her courage from her diligent study of God's Word the Bible. She loved to laugh; she loved to give gifts; she loved to teach. "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?'" (John 11:25,26)
