Jeffrey Dale Wendland, 60 of Centerville passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Mercy – One in Centerville. Jeff was born on November 7, 1961 in Centerville to Ed & Martha (Heck) Wendland. He received his education from Centerville High School, graduating in 1980. On August 28, 1981, Jeff was united in marriage to Lorraine Tarbell at the Centerville Church of the Nazarene after 2 ½ years of dating. It was the only relationship either of them ever had. To this union came two sons; Derrick and Brandon. Jeff was employed at Alliant Energy for many years. His last job before retirement was a gas welder. Jeff also owned, Wendco Body Crafters in Centerville. He enjoyed restoring old cars, teasing and pranking his friends and family, mowing his acreage, going to church, loved his dogs and had a sweet tooth for candy and cake. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Wendland, sons: Derrick Wendland, Brandon Wendland (Lindsey), grandson, Layton Wendland, mother, Martha Wendland, siblings: Rhonda Pulis, Lora Condra (Jim), David Wendland (Tracy), Dottie Varner (Lance), Tom Wendland and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Wendland. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene in Moravia. Interment will follow at Elgin Cemetery near Mystic. Visitation will take place Friday, January 7, 2022 at the church from 4-7pm.
