Wesley “Wes” James Rice, 51, of Newton passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at his residence. He was born February 23, 1970 in Catawba County to the late Michael “Mike” Rice and to Rebecca Annas Muncy of Newton. Wes enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and working on his car. He never met a stranger, loved his wife and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter. Rice Nephews: Tristan and Nigel A service to celebrate Wesley’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Rev. Tommy Young will officiate. Burial will follow at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church in Granite Falls.
