Rafael Hernandez-Coronado

Rafael Hernandez-Coronado, 75, of Perth Amboy, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 28, 2021 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Division of Perth Amboy.

He was born in La Vega, Dominican Republic. He lived in Perth Amboy for many years.

He loved reading and baseball. He was very dedicated to his family and a father to all his siblings. Rafael was a hard-working man, funny and friendly.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jorge Maria Hernandez and Maria Mercedes Coronado de Hernandez, his son Junior Vargas and his brother Zoilo Hernandez.

Rafael is survived by his wife, Isabel Z. Nuñez de Hernandez; his 4 children, Rafael A. Hernandez Jr., Eyisson Hernandez, Rafael Vargas, and Indira Hernandez; his 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his 6 sisters, Maria and her husband Luduvino Nuñez, Fioldaliza and her husband Felix Puntiel, Maria and husband Juan Puntiel, Felicita and her husband Francisco Lozano, Eduviges  and her husband Aridio Coronado and Margie and her husband Francisco Hernandez, and his 5 brothers; Felix Hernandez and his wife Heriberta, Roberto Hernandez and his wife Arelis, Jorge Alexis Hernandez and his wife Maria, Jose Aniano Hernandez and his wife Digna and Luis Ramirez.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.

Funeral services will be on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 8:30 AM at the funeral home, followed with a 10 AM Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Burial will take place in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy

All visitors must wear a face covering and adhere to social distancing rules at all times. We are asking visitors to limit their time in the funeral home to allow the family the maximum amount of guests possible.
