Catherine Anastasia Vickers Obituary

VICKERS, Catherine A. ‘Nan’ (Nairn) New Glasgow VICKERS, Catherine Anastasia ‘Nan’-86, of New Glasgow passed away December 27, 2021 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow on October 29, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (MacDonald) Nairn. Besides her parents she was predeceased by son, Stephen; daughter, Catherine; brothers, Ray, Henry and sister, Isabel. She is survived by sister, Connie; children, Rob, Lisa (David Gresswell), Ralph (Ruby), Christine (Adam Breen); her beloved granddaughters, Cydney, Paige, Jade, Lena and numerous nieces and nephews. Nan’s family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Glen Haven Manor for caring for our mom for the last year and the team in the Palliative care unit at the Aberdeen Hospital. Your love, care and compassion over the last five days to both our mom and us was amazing. Thanks to mom’s doctors Gregor MacLean and Bradley MacDougall. We are heartbroken at the loss of our mom but we know she is looking down on us, enjoying a cup tea and watching her Toronto Maple Leafs. Rest easy mom. Your work here is done. A service will be held at a later date. Donations in Nan’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society or the SPCA.
