Mrs. Rosemary Doleman-Lucas of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Friday, December 24,
2021, at Coffman Nursing Home in Hagerstown, MD. Born March 25, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA,
Mrs. Doleman-Lucas, affectionately known as Ms. Rosemary, was 75 years young.
Ms. Rosemary was a proud graduate of South Hagerstown High School and a retiree from the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Ms. Rosemary will be remembered for her love of
music, dancing, baking, and traveling and for her loving devotion to the Doleman Black Heritage
Museum and Hagerstown’s Ebenezer A.M.E. Church.
Ms. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marguerite Doleman, and her
beloved husband, Daniel “Buddy” Lucas. Ms. Rosemary is survived by her brother, Charles
“Sonny” Doleman of Hagerstown, MD; her daughters, Dawn Doleman of Charlotte, NC and
Tamara Doleman of Hagerstown, MD; and her grand-daughter, Shakira Doleman of Greensboro,
NC.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 9:00am and a Homegoing Service
at 11:00am at Christ Reformed Church at 130 W. Franklin St. in Hagerstown, MD with Rev.
Donald L. Marbury officiating. Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery at 600 S.
Potomac St. in Hagerstown, MD with support from Harman Funeral Home of Hagerstown, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Doleman Black Heritage Museum of
Hagerstown, MD.
